Is AutoCaption free? Does it add a watermark?

AutoCaption is free to use and never adds a watermark. Upload a video, edit captions, and export without paying or starting a trial.

Do I need an account?

No. You can caption a video immediately from the homepage without signing in. Create a free account if you want a dashboard to save projects and manage uploads across visits.

Can AutoCaption caption Urdu videos?

Yes. Choose Urdu for Nastaliq script laid out right to left with per-word timing, or choose Roman Urdu. You can convert between the two inside the editor.

Roman Urdu writes spoken Urdu with the English alphabet — the way most people type Urdu online. AutoCaption can transcribe directly into Roman Urdu or convert Urdu-script captions.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. Your video stays in your browser. Only the audio is sent for transcription. The finished captioned video is rendered locally and is not uploaded.

How is this different from a regular subtitle generator?

Every word has its own timestamp, not just whole lines. That is what keeps Word Pop, Karaoke, and other animated styles locked to the exact word being spoken.

Can I export for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts?

Yes. Export at 9:16, 1:1, or 16:9, or all three in one pass. Safe-zone guides show where each platform paints its own buttons so captions stay visible.

Can I download SRT or VTT files?

Yes. Download standard SRT or VTT subtitle files alongside the captioned video.

Which caption styles are included?

Eight styles ship today: Word Pop, Bounce In, Karaoke, Typewriter, Neon Glow, Badge Box, Heavy Impact, Clean Minimal. Each one supports custom typography, outline, shadow, spacing, and colours.

How long can my video be?

Videos up to 5 minutes are supported (up to 30MB file size). Trim longer clips before uploading.
